Travel Health Services

If you are planning to take a trip abroad, make sure that a stop at our clinic for Travel Medicine consultation is on your itinerary at least 2-4 weeks prior to your scheduled departure. Dr. Miller will review your travel plans to determine your specific vaccination and medication needs to keep you healthy. You may also need specific vaccinations to enter certain countries even if you are originally from that region or country.

We pride ourselves in getting patients seen within 1-2 business days of initial contact with our office.

We keep a stock of most travel-related vaccines in the office. We still encourage patients to call at least 1-2 business days before their scheduled appointment to allow us time to procure any needed vaccines.

Yellow Fever Vaccine

Dr. Miller is authorized administrator of Yellow Fever Vaccine (YF-VAX®).

Yellow fever vaccine is recommended for persons aged 9 months or older who are traveling to or living in areas at risk for yellow fever virus transmission in certain regions of South America and Africa. Yellow fever vaccine may be required for entry into certain countries. We have experience with the appropriate documentation required by the immigration authorities of these countries.

If you continue to live or travel in yellow fever-endemic areas, you should receive a booster dose of yellow fever vaccine every 10 years. Yellow fever vaccine may be given at the same time as most other vaccines.

Malaria Prophylaxis

Malaria is still a threat in many regions of the world. Malaria is an infection transmitted by mosquito bite. If you are planning a foreign trip, we encourage you to schedule an appointment. Dr. Miller can prescribe the most appropriate prophylactic antibiotics based on your destination, current medication and medical history.

Typhoid fever is a serious, potentially life-threatening disease spread through contaminated food and water. It is common in many developing countries. There is Typhoid Vaccine available for your protection.

We will verify your insurance benefits. Please be advised that NOT all insurance plans cover this type of examination and/or vaccines.
